Screen Printing vs. Embroidery
Why We Screen Print Instead of Embroider
After 10 years of producing custom salon wear, we’ve tried every method. While our largest competitor uses embroidery, we’ve found several reasons why screen printing is better:
- Penetration: Embroidery requires needles to penetrate our waterproof and water-resistant fabrics, compromising their waterproof properties and potentially allowing stains on clients’ clothing.
- Wash Durability: Embroidered threads, being different from the fabric of the garment, dry at different rates. This can lead to shrinkage and crinkling. In our harsh salon environments, screen-printed garments look fresher after 10 wash-and-dry cycles than embroidered ones.
